Home exterior, view when driving up the mountain

One of our most exciting projects is on the mountainside above Kelowna BC. This 6,500 square foot home was a full-home design featuring a dramatically angled floor plan allowing for optimal views and natural light. It’s angled roofline mimics the surrounding mountain landscape. The interior is dramatic, simple, elegant and timeless with spectacular views from every room.

The project had many unique challenges - blasting the mountain to create a flat plateau for the home and pool; burying half of the lower level into the mountainside; construction the long access road up to the home and installing the geothermal heating and cooling system into the rock.

The large U-shaped kitchen work area has appliance storage that recesses into the wall behind the backsplash, maintaining full counter depth.

The client opted for a U shaped kitchen rather than an island based layout. They also requested that the kitchen be separate from the dining and living areas of the home.

This has to be one of the most beautiful pool settings that we have every seen. It required blasting the mountain to create a flat plateau for the home and a recesses into solid rock for the pool.
