The existing main floor tenants of the Everitt Design building on Grosvenor Avenue in Winnipeg decided to move on, so the opportunity to renovate and refresh the space presented itself. The new tenants, a new boutique hair salon, had a vision of creating an eclectic, chic and inviting space for their clients. Michael Larocque and Kara McGinity, both very experienced award-winning stylists approached us to design the space. We removed walls to open the space for better flow and made sure the proper finishes and fixtures were selected. As renovations began, dust managed to find its way up to Everitt Design’s offices and cover every surface. Naturally, this forced us to go out for lunch to escape the noise and dust every so often. It was interesting to periodically poke our heads in to see construction progress and I am sure the workmen from Renovations Plus and the other trades got tired of our frequent appearances. However, they remained cheerful and helpful throughout the process. After a frantic night of final finishing touches, Michael Kara Hair Studio opened on May 3, 2016 and it looks fabulous.
